Comfort

Modern healthcare, to be effective, has to address concerns outside the hospital as well as at the bedside. This is particularly true for members of the “sandwich generation” who face the dual challenge of caring for children and elderly adults at the same time.

Baptist’s Adult Day Health Services offers caregivers the chance to be successful at balancing work, family and the demands of caregiving. Caregivers can be worry-free knowing their loved ones are being cared for by competent, qualified staff. We provide elderly, frail clients with ongoing health care by a nurse and other licensed health care professionals, social services, nutritious meals, and a day filled with fun activities, socialization with peers and community trips.

For children, the epidemic of childhood obesity is a healthcare concern nationwide, and Mississippians have the highest incidence. Baptist’s Nutrition Center offers the “Way to Go Kids!”® weight management program, a six-week program for children ages 9-14. Designed to motivate overweight and underactive kids to get moving and take a healthier path for a happier life, Way To Go Kids!® combines fun activities and games with sound nutrition information presented in an upbeat, appealing manner.

The Nutrition Center also provides a number of medically supervised weight management programs for adults.
