Baptist Hosts American Cancer Society's "I Can Cope" Series in February

Jackson, Miss. - January 24, 2003 -- "I Can Cope" is a structured group education program for adults with cancer, their family members and friends. The four week course is presented each Thursday beginning February 6, 2003, at noon in the Activities Room of the Baptist Hederman Cancer Center located at 1227 North State Street in Jackson.

Topics include learning about cancer and treatment, mental issues, understanding feelings and relationships and discovering resources and celebrating life.

"The classes are designed to help participants with selected aspects of their cancer experience by increasing their knowledge, positive attitudes and skills. Learning is enhanced in the presence of other people with whom they are sharing a common experience," said Linda Swales, RN, Baptist Cancer Services navigator.

Pre-registration is required by calling the Baptist Health Line at 1-800-948-6262 or 948-6262. For information on all Baptist Cancer Services support groups, visit the events calendar section of Baptist's website at www.mbhs.org
